Hospital Trauma Program Manager
A 150-bed hospital surrounded by dense trees, mountains, and rivers is searching for a results-focused Trauma Program Nurse Manager.
The Trauma Program Nurse Manager will be a part of the emergency department staff, many whom have obtained specialized credentials such as their CEN or CCRN credentials. Being a part of this specialized and skilled team, the Trauma Program Nurse Manager will have opportunities to educate and build a team of well-rounded emergency room nurses and managers to provide quality care.
Other responsibilities the Trauma Program Nurse Manager will include:
- Participating in direct care of critically injured patients, as well as functioning as educator and resource nurse for staff providing trauma care.
- Assuring that trauma activation charges are being captured and that the hospital is receiving enhanced reimbursement for trauma care.
- Oversees preparation, and serves as contact person, of the trauma application in order to maintain trauma center designation.
The Trauma Program Nurse Manager will operate within the emergency department, report to, and have general guidance from the Emergency Department and Trauma Program Directors. As this opportunity has many other responsibilities, multiple lines of support are imperative to the success of the Trauma Program Nurse Manager.
As this hospital is located in Washington, they have local partnerships that allow their high acuity patients to be immediately transported to a level 1 Comprehensive Stroke Center. However, most patients are able to stay at their convenient and local level 2 stroke center.
