The Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist will work across the Critical CareDivision, but focus primarily on working within the large Surgical ICU. This unit sees a great variety of surgical patients, including surgical trauma, open heart, neurosurgical, and general surgical patients, among others. 

The Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist will have a dual reporting structure and be accountable to a Divisional Director and a Director of Education. This is a true CNS role, where you will be working across the service line to advance nursing practice, improve patient care, manage and lead quality improvement, develop research initiatives and projects and promote the continued education and professional development of the nursing staff. The Critical Care CNS will serve as a resource for all groups, including nurses, physicians and staff. They will also provide clinical patient support as needed for select patient groups. 

The Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist will enjoy a collaborative environment, joining a large team of other Clinical Nurse Specialists in the hospital, working together to maintain the latest evidence-based practice throughout the hospital and ensure every patient receives the best possible care.
